They Asked and The Landscape Community Responded!

When a request for landscaping material donations was made by Synergy Youth and Community Development Society for their new building in Chestermere, Alberta, the response from the landscape industry in and around the area was nothing short of amazing. What was originally envisioned as a small-scale project turned into a 90,000 square foot park thanks to the hard work and donations of companies like Manderley.

Synergy Youth and Community Development Society is a Not for Profit organization that focuses on youth leadership and wellness education in the Chestermere, Alberta area. They recently finished construction on their new facility, the ReidBuilt Centre for Community Leadership and realized quickly that landscaping around the building would need to be completed sooner rather than later. They reached out to the community for donations and the community and landscape industry responded.

18,200 square feet of sod and close to 40 volunteer hours were contributed by Manderley to aid in making their efforts come to fruition. Other local green industry companies donated trees, shrubs, bushes, mulch, sod, loam, rocks, equipment and manpower, the result?  The creation of a safe outdoor space for the youth in the area to get outside and enjoy the benefits of being out in the fresh air.

The ReidBuilt Centre will provide operating space for Synergy and other area Not for Profit organizations to better serve the community with dedicated space for meetings, events and programs for all ages. Manderley is extremely proud to have been involved in this cornerstone community project and we couldn’t be any happier to be a part of an industry that when called upon goes above and beyond to come together for the betterment and wellbeing of the community.
